Responsible gambling

LockedIn.tips is for people aged 18 and over only. Tips are opinions, not guarantees, and betting always carries the risk of losing money. Bet for fun, never to earn a living or to win back losses.
Keep it under control
- Decide a limit for money and time before you start, and stick to it.
- Only bet what you can afford to lose. Never borrow to gamble.
- Never chase losses: a bigger bet does not make a loss smaller.
- Take regular breaks and do not gamble when upset, stressed or after drinking.
- Be wary of anyone, including tipsters, who promises sure wins or risk-free profit. There is no such thing.
Signs of a problem
- Spending more money or time on gambling than you meant to.
- Chasing losses, or gambling to escape worries or low mood.
- Lying to family or friends about your gambling, or hiding it.
- Borrowing money, selling things or missing bills to gamble.
- Feeling anxious, guilty or irritable when you try to cut down.
- Gambling affecting work, studies or relationships.
If any of this sounds familiar, please talk to someone. Help is free and confidential.
